Home to ‘The Great Migration’, one of the most spectacular events of the animal kingdom. Literally millions of animals make the annual migration from Tanzania to Kenya in search of water and grazing. Wildebeest, zebra and gazelle travel in hoards to reach richer pastures and their instinct to do this is so strong that they will risk their lives during their perilous journey crossing the raging torrents of crocodile-infested waters. Cheetah, hunting dog, lion and hyena wait patiently, ready to pick off the weak and the weary. At XCAR, we can recommend certain routes at various times of year so that your journey can come into close proximity of this extraordinary movement of game.

Zanzibar
Surrounded by beautiful white sand beaches, a barrier reef, and chanting tropics, this exotic spice island is a jewel within the paradise that is the Indian Ocean.

Lake Manyara
Tanzania’s most famous lake, this beautiful watering hole is where you will see a sea of pink as it inhabits thousands of Flamingo’s and over 400 species of birds.

Serengeti National Park
Arguably Africa’s most famous National Park, the Serengeti is one of the birthplaces of safari. The fact that it’s home to the ‘The Big 5’ and ‘The Great Migration says it all.

Selous Game Reserve
Located in southern Tanzania and far from the madding crowds, the Selous Game Reserve is Africa’s largest game reserve and one of our favourite wildlife viewing areas.

Tarangire National Park
Tarangire is one of the most beautiful countries in Tanzania, it is stunning both in dry and wet season. It is also home to the largest herds of elephant in Tanzania.

The Ngorongoro Crater
The worlds largest volcanic caldera, The Ngorongoro Crater now inhabits its very own ecosystem. Lion, Elephant, Zebra, Buffalo & Rhino can all been seen here.
